Gender Role

Gender role as define is the “expectations about what is appropriate behavior for each sex" or "the attitudes, behaviors, rights and responsibilities that a society associates with each sex".
There are four types of gender role these are: Masculine role, Feminine role, Androgynous and lastly Undifferentiated role. Masculine Role corresponds to an aggressive, assertive, analytical, dominant, forceful, and individualistic character. Feminine Role corresponds to a sympathetic, compassionate, soft-spoken, and understanding character, and sensitive to the needs of others. Androgynous, talks about the individuals that fit this profile have characteristics that score highly in both feminine and masculine behavioral features. They supposedly more flexible and adaptable, as they may feel comfortable were engaging in behaviors appropriate for either gender. And lastly, Undifferentiated Role those individuals with a low score in both masculine and feminine stereotypical characteristics and are supposedly less adaptable.

There are many reasons why gender roles vary. It depends upon the behavior and attitude expected of male and female. This vary in different cultures impose different expectations upon the men and women who live in a certain culture. Sometimes, the role of gender changes depending on the effect of the home, workplace, school and church. Gender role are affected by those few things. In negotiation, men and women are totally different. They rose differently, different biologically, different in many aspect especially when a marketer produce product for one’s specific gender. Moreover, they are different on the way of communication. Men act aggressively, independently, sensibly. Whereas women act and think emotionally. Sometimes women look strong but deep inside they are weak. There are really big differences between the two.
